Scan tissue slides and catch pathology hallmarks in this free online pathology game about clinical diagnosis for premed students.
Patho-Scan is a free online pathology game where you investigate blood smears and tissue biopsies, adjust optical focus and tally cell ratios against the clock. This microscope game teaches the diagnostic eye of a real pathologist.
Pathology is pattern recognition at the cellular level. Differential stains split the field: Wright-Giemsa turns blood cells into a readable census of neutrophils, lymphocytes and monocytes while tissue stains like H&E paint nuclei purple and cytoplasm pink so architecture pops. Focus depth matters too, because cells hide in different optical planes of a thick smear.
The ratios you count are genuine diagnostic signals. A blast surge suggests leukemia, atypical cell shapes hint at dysplasia or malignancy and abnormal distributions flag infection or marrow failure. Pathologists quantify exactly what you score under time pressure: morphology, proportion and context.
